“It’s actually been quite a long process because I found out and was originally going to get the service a few weeks ago,” Law, 51, told people at the ceremony on Thursday, December 12. “And actually, I lost my mother. So we had to postpone it.”
He added: “In a very strange way, as a kind of final gift, it meant that a few more of my family might actually be here. To be honest, the whole event was quite an emotional experience and obviously just a very personal occasion and really touching.’
The row star was joined on Thursday by his wife, Philippa Coanand his children Rafferty, 28, and Iris, 24. (In addition to Rafferty and Iris, Law also shares Rudy, 22, with ex-wife Sadie Frost; Sofia, 15, with an ex Samantha Burke; Ada, 9, with ex Katherine Harding; and two children with Koan.)
“They were just wonderful. I mean, they’re always so supportive and loving,” Lo gushed people. “We are very lucky to have each other, but they are my backbone.”
In his Walk of Fame speech, Law honored both of his parents.
“I had a mother who showed me the great silent films, comedies, musicals and dramas from the Golden Age of Hollywood, American New Wave (and) foreign films,” Law recalled. “And I had a dad who took me to blockbuster movies in the ’70s and ’80s, where we’d eat our body weight in popcorn and chocolate.”

“I was very, very lucky to have a family around me that lived with and supported my passion for acting and filmmaking,” Law said. “And some of those members of my wonderful family are here today. And they know what they mean to me. I love them so much.”
Rafferty followed him ever since his father’s acting footsteps.
“It’s nice because we have similarities and we’re so close, so now that I’m older he can help me work on scripts and I can send him my music and he can say, ‘Yeah, that’s great,'” Rafferty said GQ Hype in 2021 “He’s just happy to see me grow into the young man he’s proud to call his son.”
He added: “My dad is my best friend; he and i have always been so close. Like any father and son, growing up I looked up to my father a lot.”
