Josh Brolin locked Bell’s paresis because of extreme stress


Josh Brolin’s Health was on the line during a “stressful” move to Montecito, California.

On SiriusXMs “Literally! With Rob Lowe” Podcast, Brolin, explained the host that because of his move he contracted a “mild matter” of Bell’s palsis.

“I got so stressed about moving here because it represented something very specific to me that I finally ditch a mild case of Bell’s palsy,” said Brolin.

Lowe wondered if Brolin knew for sure that his medical condition derived from stress, and the actor said: “Absolutely one hundred percent. There is nothing else to blame it.”

According to the Mayo ClinicBell’s Parese “is a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face. Often the weakness is in the short term and improves them. And the eye on the affected side is difficult to close.”

Brolin told Lowe that he was previously diagnosed with Bell’s Parese in another stressful situation.

“I just want to say congratulations on the ‘dune’ best photo nomination, to Gray Fraser on cinematography, for the best visual effects, for Patrice (Vermett) about production design and for sound,” said Brolin in a video shared with his Instagram -story. “Apparently I will stop acting because Denis Villeneuve has not been nominated.”

Brolin praised the sequel “Dune” as a “better film” than the first, because he threatened to leave the industry in November.
