Joey Barton handed a suspenseful sentence after being found guilty of attacking wife

Joey Barton received a 12 -week prison sentence in the court of the Westminster courts after finding guilty of attacking his wife in June 2021.

The 42 -year -old former footballer was convicted of attacking his wife, Georgia Barton, after a night of heavy consumption with two other pairs.

According to the court proceedings, Mrs Barton, 38, suffered a piece on her forehead and a bleeding nose as a result of the dispute.

After the incident, Mrs Barton called the police, stating that her husband “just hit me”. However, she later submitted a letter to prosecutors in an attempt to withdraw her claims.

Nevertheless, chief Judge Paul Goldspring rejected the version of Barton’s events as “indefinite” and eventually found him guilty of a single clash with the hit after a two -day trial.

The prosecutor’s office also claimed that Mrs Barton was not as drunk as she and her husband proposed. Mrs Duong pointed out that her bloody nose “was an injury that really requires an explanation,” adding, “it was simply something that was not caused by an accident.”

During the trial, Barton admitted that he had supported with his wife, but denied any physical dispute. He was asleep in their bedroom on the night of the incident when the officers arrived to arrest him, still drunk.

The police station remained silent during the interrogation, offering an interview without a band.

Defense lawyer Simon Csoka questioned the timetable of events, suggesting that there was uncertainty about exactly when Mrs Barton suffered her injuries before making emergency call.

Treating the piece on her forehead, she argued: “There are several circumstances where the injury may have been randomly maintained.”

Showing in court dressed in a black jacket, jacket, pants and glasses, Barton did not speak while he was on the dock, but was ordered to stand as the verdict was announced.

Despite the belief, Barton and his wife remain married and share two children together.
