JK Rowling ridicules a piece in the NY Times that downplays transgender backlash against her: ‘Rewriting history’

Author JK Rowling denounced the ‘rewriting of history’, softening the extreme hostility she faced her view on transgender ideology.

Last week The New York Times published a piece about it transgender activists are reconsidering their ‘all-or-nothing’ approach and called the opposition to critics like Rowling ‘tireless criticism’.

“When JK Rowling said that denying any relationship between sex and biology was ‘deeply misogynistic and regressive’, a prominent LGBTQ group accused her of betraying ‘real feminism’. Some angry critics posted videos of themselves burning her books,” the article said.

On Monday, the “Harry Potter” author attacked this mild description of the backlash, reminding her X-followers that she and others have received death threats and more.

“The rewriting of history begins. Opponents of gender ideology have not only ‘endured tireless criticism’. I have not simply been told that I have ‘betrayed real feminism’, or received a few book burning videos,” Rowling wrote.

She continued: “I have received thousands of threats of murder, rape and violence. A trans woman posted my family’s home address with a bomb-making guide. My oldest child was targeted by a prominent trans activist who tried to doxx her and I ended up cheating on the wrong young woman. I could write a twenty thousand word essay about the impact on me and my family, and what we have endured is NOTHING compared to the damage done to others.

“By standing up to a movement based on threats of violence, exclusion and guilt, we have all been smeared and vilified, but many have lost their livelihoods. Some have been physically attacked by trans activists. Female politicians have done that too. forced to hire personal security on the advice of the police. The news that one of Britain’s leading endocrinologists, Dr. Hillary Cass was advised If she does not take public transport for her own safety, it would shame everyone who has allowed this madness to run wild.”

She added that this reinterpretation of resistance only occurred since “the political landscape has changed” and “some who have tapped into their own supplies are waking up with a massive hangover.”

‘It’s predictable, but it won’t last. I have no doubt that those who turned a blind eye to the purges of non-believers, or even cheered and encouraged them, I would rather minimize the real costs of speaking out, but ‘yes, perhaps trans activists sometimes went a little over the top’ are frankly insulting,” Rowling wrote.

She concluded: ‘A full reckoning of the effects of gender ideology on individuals, society and politics is still a long way off, but I know this: the receipts will be very ugly when that time comes, and there are far too many of them to politely sweep it under the rug.”

Although transgender activists have viciously attacked Rowling and protested her works, HBO announced this in a statement last month it stood behind the author before her “Harry Potter” book series was adapted for television.

“JK Rowling has the right to express her personal opinions. We will remain focused on the development of the new series, which will only benefit from her involvement,” a network spokesperson said.
