James Woods’ home survives California fires; Jennifer Garner, Molly Sims’ also spared among celebrity homes


James Bos was among celebrities whose homes were spared the destruction of the California wildfires.

Although the actor initially feared his home was lost to the flames that consumed Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood on Tuesday, Woods shared a positive update upon returning to the property following the evacuation.

“A miracle has happened,” Woods wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a video of the view from his patio.

“We managed to reach our property and our house that we were told was gone forever is still standing. In this hellish landscape, ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is nothing like the total destruction to us.”

In the clip shared by Woods, he panned the camera over “everything below us,” to show scorched ground and buildings reduced to rubble as plumes of smoke continued to rise in the distance.

“That’s Pali High School,” he said as he filmed the wreckage on the charter school’s campus.

“That’s our neighbor’s house,” Woods said, zooming in on a badly damaged home.

The video continued as Woods filmed a young man pouring water on shrubs and wood siding.

“Francis, whose father we saved, is now putting out fires on our hillside,” he said. In an earlier X post, Woods described how he helped organize the evacuation of an elderly neighbor.

Woods gave his viewers a 360-degree view of the destruction before zooming back in on his neighbor’s house.

“Jeez, look at that,” Woods said. “Oh my God.”

In a follow-up post, Woods thanked his fans for their support.

“So many beautiful messages from all of you,” he said. “I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly the whole area looks like the dark side of the moon.

“It is so fundamentally heartbreaking and disturbing that it is almost difficult to celebrate the joyful news that our home has survived.”

In addition to Woods, a number of other stars have revealed that their homes were spared from the devastating bushfires.

Jennifer Garner confirmed that her home survived the Palisades Fire when she returned to her Pacific Palisades neighborhood to volunteer.

During an interview with MSNBC on Friday, the actress stood among the rubble as she reflected on the devastation.

“My heart bleeds for my friends,” Garner said. “I mean, I can think of 100 families, and 5,000 homes have been lost. I can – without even (thinking) – write down a list of 100 friends who have lost their homes.

“I almost feel guilty walking around my house,” she added. ‘You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the security I have?’

The “Alias” alum broke down in tears as she revealed that one of her friends had died in the wildfires.

“I’ve lost a friend, and for our church it’s very tender. So I don’t feel like we need to talk about it anymore,” Garner said. ‘I have indeed lost a friend. She didn’t get away in time.’

Molly Sims’ The home in Pacific Palisades was also still standing after wildfires swept through the area.

The actress shared a carousel of images on Instagram shows the fires and their aftermath, writing: “Right now our house is fine.”

“I say that with a heavy heart, knowing that so many cannot say the same,” she continued. “Our dear community has experienced the UNIMAGEABLE, and my heart is broken. Entire neighborhoods, homes, schools, playgrounds, restaurants – places that held memories, laughter and so much of what made us who we are – are gone. My friends have disappeared. lost everything. I can barely put into words the pain and devastation that surrounds us.”

Sims was amazed at the solidarity she saw in the community and praised the first responders.

“The FIRST RESPONDERS and firefighters, who work tirelessly around the clock even when stretched to extremes, are nothing short of heroes. Their dedication saves lives, and their courage is immeasurable. Please know that they did EVERYTHING in their power , we ran out of water.

Steve Guttenberg revealed that his home was spared as he toured the aftermath of the Palisades Fire.

During an interview with The Associated Pressthe actor shared that he had mixed feelings about how his home had survived while so many others’ properties were destroyed.

“This morning I woke up and I was really aware of my mental state and my mental health because I’ve seen so much tragedy in the last three days,” Guttenberg said. He told the outlet that his house has electricity, but no running water.

Guttenberg thanked God his block was safe, but he said about two dozen homes in his 80-home community burned “pretty badly” after wind-fanned fires swept through Los Angeles, destroying homes and clogging roads as tens of thousands fled.

He told the AP that the fire was the worst he has seen in his life. Guttenberg had returned to his neighborhood to help others who were left behind with relief efforts. The ‘Police Academy’ star has helped move cars to clear the street, distributed food and helped neighbors from their homes.

“I’ve seen people scared, people in wheelchairs, mothers and fathers trying to find their children, people having anxiety and panic attacks,” Guttenberg said.

“All these houses behind me burned to the ground, where their families were having wonderful times with their friends and relatives,” he added. “There’s really a lot of pain right now. I’m doing what I can to help alleviate it.”

Guttenberg said he’s not sure how the film and TV industry can help as awards season begins.

“Everyone is going to do what regular people do: help each other, give each other food and water, help each other in their backyard, in their front yard,” he said. “Even if someone is an actor, a producer, a writer, a director, we’re all just human. … Maybe at some point people can donate to some fund. But I think right now we just have to be a good neighbor. “

Bill Hader’s House was one of the few homes on his street that escaped the destruction of the Palisades Fire.

On Saturday, a representative for the actor confirmed to Fox News Digital that the actor’s belongings were “safe and intact.”

“Bill is extremely grateful for the efforts of the LAFD (Los Angeles Fire Department),” Hader’s spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Hader surprised a local TV news crew when he returned to his Pacific Palisades home on Thursday and offered to help the team with their wildfire reporting.

Josh Haskell, a reporter for Los Angeles affiliate ABC7, posted photo of Hader on X and talked about the crew’s meeting with the comedian.

The image showed Hader wearing a face mask as he flashed a peace sign at the news van. Many LA residents have started wearing face masks to protect themselves amid dangerous smoke levels and poor air quality due to the ongoing wildfires.

“An only in LA moment Thursday at the roadblock for #PalisadesFire,” Haskell wrote. “A resident trying to gain access came up to the news van as if he was part of our team, he wanted to help provide coverage, ride with us. Then he pulled down his mask, smiled and it was Bill Hader!”

“It couldn’t have been nicer,” Haskell added of the actor.
