Polo
Courtesy of NetflixPrince Harry and Meghan Markle are executive producers on Netflix’s newest sports series titled Polobut are they in the show?
The answer is yes – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex actually make a brief appearance. Harry traveled to Wellington, Floridafor Sentebale Polo Cuphis annual charity polo match. He and a close friend Nacho Figueras (who features prominently in the show as a legendary polo player) were filmed competing in the charity match, and Meghan was there to reward the winner. Harry and his Royal Salute Sentebale team won the tournament.
Sentebale is Harry’s non-profit organization that raises money for vulnerable communities in Africa. The organization’s senior management was relocated to South Africa in December 2024 while viewers watched the Polo charity event, which premiered the same month.
“The charity event really happened to happen in Wellington this year. It was a complete coincidence that all of this was happening,” Polo showrunner Milos Balac said Us Weekly extremely. “I’m really glad we were able to present this event because Nacho was such a key role on this whole project from day one.”
Many of the athletes involved in Polo got a chance to play against the Duke of Sussex at the Sentebale match. And for those new to the world of polo, keep scrolling to see which of the sport’s biggest stars can be seen on the Netflix show:
Adolfo Cambiaso

Adolfo Cambiaso
Courtesy of NetflixThe polo legend has been called one of the greatest polo players of all time. Having turned 50 years old, the athlete has already accumulated quite good results when it comes to victories in sports. However, he is competing against his own son at the 2024 US Open to see which Cambiaso will come out on top.
“The Cambiasso story naturally stands out as an anomaly in the sport as a whole,” presenter Balach said us. “Having a father and son competing against each other across generations. … It’s actually being heard about in the polo world. Fathers and sons and mothers and daughters will play together and against each other. I don’t know of any other sports where that’s possible.”
Poroto Cambiasso

Poroto Cambiasso
Courtesy of NetflixThe would-be champion, Poroto follows in his father’s footsteps to become a champion polo player. At 19, he is already valued as a player.
“To see Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso play – as the two greatest players to possibly ever play the sport – against each other and bond in the way they are like father and son was really special,” said Ballach. “It’s really a no-brainer that this would happen on the show.”
Louis Devalle

Louis Devalle
Courtesy of NetflixDevaleix is somewhat of a newcomer to the world of polo, having taken up the sport at age 40 after growing up as a golfer. He is married to Pamela Flanagan Devalakes (bachelor alum Kelly Flanagan‘s sister), and the show follows the couple as they prepare to welcome their first baby.
Balach said us that Devaleix’s story is one that viewers “can relate to” even if they’re not interested in “horses or sports” because they really show “a husband and wife dealing with pregnancy and the stresses and joys that carries’.
Timmy Dutta

“These are people who had a lot to share and were ready to share it,” shared Balach with us about the family aspects of the show.
Research Magrini

Christos “Keko” Magrini
