Indiana parents arrested for abuse after zip-typing 10-year-old son, and told brother or sister to beat him up

A Indiana pair is accused of inflicting “nutritional value” neglect of their 10-year-old son, typing him zip and covering his head with a towel so that he could not watch TV and tell his brothers and sisters to beat him up.

Melody Rose Greenwood, 38, and Adam Jon Greenwood, 36, every face provisional loads for neglecting a dependent.

The abuse was discovered when the “extremely thin” child was brought to Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital for an exam that revealed “Nutrition” and child abuse, Muncie Police said according to the Muncie Star Press.

The suspected abuse was reported to the police.

The Indiana Department of Child Services, which also investigates the accusations of abuse, spoke with the seven brothers and sisters of the victim, who explained that the 10-year-old was only fed in canned food such as beans, tomatoes and soup, while all others had “normal meals such as cheeseburgers and Fastfood.”

The boy was forced to stand against a wall until 12 hours a day with a towel that was sometimes placed over his head to prevent him from watching TV.

He said his brothers and sisters were told to “beat him up” when he spoke or got off the wall.

The child also said that his mother had used Zip tires to control him, and the boy reported that they were in pain because the zip tires were extremely tight. He said that one evening his mother had tied his hands behind his back while he prepared in bed and that he was instructed to leave them on for the rest of the night.

An officer said: “Scars and figures on his wrists” seemed “consistent with limitations”.

Two of the older brothers and sisters were reportedly the primary education source for the other children, and the home schooling was reportedly limited to reading three chapters of a book per day while the parents were working.
