The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested several migrants wanted for horrible crimes such as sexual abuse of a child, in recent weeks.
In Laredo, Texas, DPS arrested a Honduran National Wanted for Sexual Assault in Harris County during a traffic stop executed as part of Operation Lone Star.
The stop happened just after 7 am on 12 February, then one DPS Trooper I stopped an international tractor trailer from 2011 for a traffic violation.
As soon as the truck came to a halt, the driver and various passengers left for the brush, DPS said.

With the help of extra agencies, seven illegal immigrants and the driver of the truck, the 49-year-old Junior Adalid Montoya-Alvarez, were found and detained.
DPS said Montoya-Alvarez is a Honduran National with legal permanent status. He was arrested for human smuggling and later it was discovered that he was sought in Harris County for sexual violence.
The seven illegal immigrants who were taken into custody came from Guatemala and Mexico and were referred to Border Patrol according to DPS.

The day before, 26-year-old Carols Daniel Espinoza-Arguello, a criminal illegal immigrant from Venezuela, was arrested by DPS agents and state troopers in Socorro, after he had been pulled for Presumably human smuggling.
An investigation discovers that Espinoza-Arguello was sought by DPS for sexual abuse of a child, and he was arrested and booked in the prison of El Paso County.
The arrest of Espinoza-Arguello eventually led to a storage house nearby, where two illegal immigrants, also from Venezuela, were taken into custody by American immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) enforcement and removal operations (EO).

After performing an order control, the Trooper found that the passenger, 40-year-old Armando Alonso-Cortez, was a criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico. DPS said that Alonso-Cortez was sought by the Alton Police Department for sexual abuse of a child. He was also considered an escape risk, DPS added.
Alonso-Cortez was arrested on site and transferred to the Alton Police Department.
Operation Lone Star was started under Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in 2021.
