Ruben Amorim admitted that he was struggling to determine why he had not made a coherent impact during Manchester United’s term, as his side looked away from the persuasive as they came from behind to save a point against Everton.
United came from two goals to rescue a draw at Goodison Park through the second half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte after Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure had given Tofffees a lead.
A dramatic ending in the game saw a refreshing Everton denied a penalty for VAR’s interruption time, too much for the frustration of boss David Moyes.
The result is unlikely to thank the manager. For Moyes he will feel that two points have fallen, while for Amorim, despite the much -improved after break performance, the score will do little to relieve placement pressure on the Portuguese coach.

United won only four of the 15 league games since Amorim took over in November and admitted that he had difficulty finding the reason for his team’s stuttering.
“I don’t know. If I knew I’m going to change it,” Amorim said.
“We need to keep thinking about the next game and everything we do during the week we must use it in the game. And if we do this we are close to winning games as we did in the second half today. to win. “
Red Devils’ boss also said that his team “didn’t exist” in the first half against Everton, but quickly showed their improved appearance after the break.
Amorim added: “We were not in the first half. We know that this team (Everton) is really good in the second balls and we suffered two goals like this in second balls. We were soft in the first half, but we managed to recover.
“I don’t just want to say the negative places. The second half was much better. At the end, we were close to winning the game.
“At the moment we have to focus day by day. We have to survive this season, that’s clear, and then think ahead.”
Then United is the visit of the Ipswich City on Wednesday. The tractor’s boys are now under the management of Kieran McKenna, a former in training staff at Old Trafford.
