ICE says that the authorities of Colorado do not help in the search for escaped illegal aliens


Authorities in Aurora, Colorado, are said to refuse to help US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Find two illegal immigrants who escaped on Tuesday from the Denver Contract Detention Facility, the agency said.

Illegal immigrants Joel Jose Gonzalez-Gonzalez, 32, and Geilond Vido-Romero, 24, escaped at a certain moment on Tuesday after they were justified during a 2-hour count in the facility.

The Aurora Police Department shared a document with FOX News Digital that the staff of the facility became aware of the escapes at around 12:35 pm on Wednesday. It also said that an Aurora police officer responded to an “external agency” on Wednesday at 5.13 am.

Aurora Police Public Information Officer Jo Moylan said that the Department did not receive a report on the escaped prisoners until around 2:30, two hours after the men were missing and five hours after the power of the facility went out.

The document showed that assistant -facility director Mohamed Bennani told Aurora Police That the power in the detention center went out on Tuesday around 9.30 pm and opened the back doors of the facility for the football field.

Bennani believes that this is when both prisoners escaped through the back door. The staff of the facility started an emergency count around midnight and realized that both men were missing.

From Wednesday the power is still in the facility, but the authorities said they should be able to revise camera images once it has been restored.

Ice said that then agents contacted the local authorities, they refused to help in searching for the two escapes, which were still fleeing early on Thursday morning. They also said that they have informed state and federal law enforcement partners of the search.

Moylan told Fox News Digital that the Aurora police will “help with the fear” if the men are confirmed in Aurora.

“This was a cold event from the moment we were aware of this,” said Moylan in a statement. “We work together with our federal partners to determine whether the escapes have some connection with the city of Aurora. When the time comes that warrants are active and information is confirmed that these men are in Aurora, we will help with the arrest.”

The Sheriff office of Adams County said: “No one has received a request to help ice in any capacity, especially to find two escaped prisoners,” said Fox 31 Denver. Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Also said it wasn’t mentioned.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation told Fox 31 that it did not help ice with his search for the escapes because it was not contacted by the federal agents.
