How are things in the competition of this season


While compatriots of England and Wales have their eyes firmly in their respective qualifying campaigns for the 2026 World Cup, the small issue of the Nations Championship remains elsewhere.

The competition of this season must still be decided, with the quarter-finals and play-off races-both or two-foot-ongoing.

As things are the last eight-consisting of the teams that ended first and second in each of the four A–the-Spanish league teams meet the Netherlands in Valencia on Sunday with the level of tie 2-2.

In a repetition of the 2018 World Cup final, France hosts Croatia that wants to overturn a two-foot deficit, while Denmark has a thin advantage 1-0 in their game with Portugal.

Germany and Italy, meanwhile, go to Dortmund 2-1 in Germany, Germany after the first game.

The semifinals have already taken place, with the winners of Italy and Germany facing either Denmark or Portugal, while the Netherlands against Spain are moving forward to playing Croatia or France.

The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday 4 and Thursday, June 5, with the final on Sunday, June 8, hosted by Italy or Germany.

Running at the same time with the quarterfinals is the Nations League play-offs.

These bonds are challenged between the teams that finished third in League A and the second sides of the B Championship, with the winner securing a place in League A next season.

Similarly, the third -place team in League B will face second -place teams in League C, with the winners winning a point in League B Next Trem.

The two nations ending down in the C championship with the best record will play the League D.

Both Scotland and the Republic of Ireland characteristically in the play-offs, where a penalty by Scott Mctominay helped the Scots to claim 1-0 first foot victory in Greece in Athens.

Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland secured a 2-1 victory in Bulgaria by Finn Azaz and Matt Doherty.

The Nations Championship has a direct link for the World Cup qualification. Four teams will qualify for a play-off to reach the 2026 tournament in Canada, Mexico and the US through the Nations Championship.

They are the four winners of the best teams who do not continue to end in the first two World Cup qualifiers.
