Exclusive: Rep. Ralph Norman, RS.C., is a “serious consider” a run for South Carolina Governor, he told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
“I have been here for eight years and I am doing well,” said Norman just outside the American Capitol, where he had helped the debate about a bill for government financing, supported by the president Donald Trump.
Norman said that he is an avid believer in the congress in time limits, but added: “I might come back. We will see.”
“But the race of the governor has some attraction,” he said.

Norman won his housechair for the first time in 2016 during the same election that Trump sent to the White House for his first term.
He is a conservative tax hawk and an important member of the House Freedom Caucus.
Norman’s house website also praises him as a lifelong resident of the 5th congress district of South Carolina, where he serves.

Punchbowl News Earlier this year it reported that Norman was considering running for Governor. His comments to Fox News Digital on Tuesday, however, seem to be a clear escalation in his flirting with a higher office.
Norman previously considered a primary challenge against the old Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in South Carolina.
But a run for governorship could put him on a collision course with a colleague -conservative, rep. Nancy Mace, RS.C.

Mace told the Associated Press Earlier this year she was “seriously” a run for governor “considering” in the same way.

Another name that floats in the state of Palmetto is attorney general Alan Wilson in South Carolina.
Norman and Mace are both vocal Trump supporters, although both had their own public breaks from the president. Norman particularly supported colleague South Carolinian Nikki Haley for President, but switched to supporting Trump immediately after Haley stopped.
Trump himself did not weigh the race.
