Hollywood actress Elizabeth Chambers claims the government has not done enough during the crisis LA burns.
During an interview with Fox News Digital, Chambers, 42, was asked if she believed city officials were doing everything they could to contain the fires in Los Angeles.
“I think it was a disaster,” she noted. “I don’t think anyone was ready for it. I think it’s on a scale that no one expected.”

Chambers shared her feelings about billionaire real estate developer and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rik Caruso.
“And then Caruso saved Palisades Village. … You can get political or not. But in the end, he had as much time as everyone else to prepare. … I mean, it’s untouched. It’s eerily untouched.”

“The music is still playing in Palisades Village, as if it were Disneyland and everything around it was destroyed. So, do I think the steps were taken in the right way and quickly enough? Absolutely not.”
Caruso, who unsuccessfully ran against Karen Bass for mayor in 2022, previously said the nonexistent water supply when the Palisades Fire burned millions of dollars in property represented “absolute mismanagement by the city.”

“There’s no water in the Palisades. There’s no water coming out of the fire hydrants. This is absolute mismanagement by the city. Not the fire department’s fault, it’s the city’s fault,” Caruso said. Fox11 Los Angeles when the fires raged.
The deadly fires broke out in the Los Angeles area on January 7, sending tens of thousands of residents fleeing for safety as their homes and businesses were destroyed. Officials said Thursday that more than 30 people were still missing, while two additional deaths brought the death toll to 27.
“So, do I think the steps were taken appropriately and quickly enough? Absolutely not.’

Chambers described the moment she had to evacuate, immediately gathering her and her children’s personal belongings.
“I took our passports. I took birth certificates. I just took pictures of… all over the house… older family photos,” she explained to Fox News Digital. “I just packed up for a few nights.”

The television personality has two children with her ex-husband, Armie Hamer, and shared how she explained the tragic fires in California to her young children, daughter Harper, 10, and son Ford, 7.
“I think in everything parenting you have to be the captain of the plane. … If the captain of the plane panics, the passengers panic. And I just approach parenting in general that way ” she told Fox News Digital. .

“But if the pilot of the plane doesn’t panic and say everything’s fine, and you know you’re about to crash, you don’t trust the pilot either. So, you know, it’s transparency. They’re real honest conversations and their reassurance consequences.
“You can say that a lot of people are losing their homes right now. We have everything that is important. And no matter what happens, we are a family. And we are healthy, and we are together. And we always will be.” a place to live, and that’s what you can say,” she noted.

Chambers is helping to raise money for the victims of the California fires through her charity, Cupcake for a Cause.
The owner of Bird Bakery is donating 100% of the proceeds from their Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake to the Los Angeles Fire Department through February 1st.

“Over the past nearly 13 years, we have consistently created a CUPCAKE FOR A CAUSE™️ to benefit a multitude of tragedies and events in our community and beyond, and this is no exception,” Chambers’ company posted on Instagram earlier this week. .
“My children and I have been evacuated for the past seven days and we are still praying for the safety of our home, but we are the lucky ones. This has truly been the most devastating unthinkable for so many, and this is our chance to help.”
“It’s a vanilla cake with sliced strawberries and lemon buttercream,” Chambers told Fox News Digital. “And we’ve already sold so many in the last few days, and that money is going directly to the LA Fire Department Foundation.”
She noted that the flavor is meaningful because 90% of all strawberries grown in the United States come from California, and “we turn lemons into lemonade.”
