New York Gov. Kathy Hochul Put a key in a City University of New York (Cuny) Constitual College’s plans to fill a “Palestinian studies” professorship report that is said to have had anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli discourse with topics such as “Apartheid”, “Settler Colonialism”, “Genocide” and more.
“Governor Hochul has instructed Cuny to immediately remove this vacancy and to perform a thorough assessment of the position to ensure that anti -Semitic theories are not promoted in class,” a spokesperson for the governor told the New York Post.
“The Governor has continued to condemn all forms of anti -Semitism and has made it clear that hateful rhetoric of any nature has no place at Cuny or somewhere in the state of New York.”

The outlet reported that the placement for the voter from the university, Hunter College, has since been removed, but a screenshot with details about the position remains.
“We are looking for a historically well -founded scholar who takes a critical lens for issues that relate to Palestine, including but not limited to: colonist colonialism, genocide, human rights, apartheid, migration, climate and infrastructure destruction, health, race, gender, gender and sexuality,” part of the list with the list.
The placement further explained that the tasks of the faculty member “research, education and service to the department and the university would have involved.
