Here’s where first responders can get free food in California


As the Los Angeles area battles wildfires, here are some restaurants — both local and national chains — offering free meals to firefighters and other first responders.

Make sure you check with everyone individual restaurant as these offers may vary from location to location.

All promotions were current at the time of writing.

Blow pizza

Nine Blaze Pizza locations in Southern California are offering first responders a free 11″ pizza (simple or one topping) through Sunday, Jan. 12, the chain said in an Instagram post on Jan. 10.

“We hope everyone stays safe,” Blaze Pizza said.

Fat Sal’s Deli

The California-based sandwich shop is offering a free meal to first responders at several locations, the restaurant said in a Jan. 9 Instagram post.

“To our incredibly brave first responders: If you have a moment, enjoy a free meal at our locations in Hollywood, Westwood, Encino, Venice and Culver City,” the post said.

In-N-Out burger

Select locations in Southern California are offering free meals for firefighters. Additionally, the company has stationed its “cookout trucks” at restaurant locations near the fires.

“It was an honor to provide free meals to firefighters with our cook trucks and at our locations near areas hit hard by the fires,” In-N-Out said on its Instagram page.

KFC

KFC offers free KFC bowls to first responders, including law enforcement, emergency medical services members, firefighters and “members of the military involved in emergency response (who carry their first responder ID),” according to a company press release on Friday, Jan. 10. .

The free bowls are available at participating restaurants in the region until Monday, January 20. A list of participating restaurants is available on KFC’s website.

Norms

The Southern California-based restaurant chain is offering firefighters and police officers free entree until Jan. 12 at 11 p.m., according to its website.

This offer is not valid at the Las Vegas location.

Shake Shack

First responders can get a free Shackburger at any Shake Shack location in Los Angeles County through Sunday, January 12, the company posted on X on January 8.

The burgers are “a little thank you for all you do,” the post said.

Sizzler

Sizzler Locations in Van Nuys, Los Feliz, Palmdale and Culver City, California are offering free meals to firefighters and evacuees.

“Please come in for a free hot meal,” Sizzler posted on Facebook and X on Thursday afternoon. “Let our cashier know you are here for the firefighting meal,” the post said.

Meal options include a 6-ounce steak, six jumbo crispy shrimp or a Malibu chicken casserole, along with a side dish and a fountain drink.
