Defense secretary Pete Hegseeth visited the southern borderexplaining a “new era of determination” while the Trump government doubles its efforts to protect the border and to stop illegal immigration.
“Because of President Donald Trump, this is a new era on the southern border, a new era of determination, a new era of cooperation. And at the Ministry of Defense we are proud to be part of it,” Hegseeth told reporters at a Press conference in El Paso, Texas after Hegseeth had traveled the border.
Hegseeth emphasized that, instead of concentrating on foreign territory, the administration first wanted to concentrate on American sovereignty.

“Boys and girls of my generation have spent decades abroad that guard the boundaries of others. It is time for us to secure our own border,” he said.

The visit of Hegseeth on the southern border is the latest migration-oriented journey through a Trump cabinet officer.
