Liverpool was hit by Newcastle United in the final of the Prime Minister’s English Cup earlier today.
Newcastle won the game 2-1 thanks to the goals by Dan Burn and Alexander Isak. Federico Chiesa set a goal for Liverpool deeply in an extra time. However, it was not enough for the Reds to get anything out of the competition.

The Reds were eliminated by the UEFA Champions League earlier this week and the loss in the Cup final will be a hammer hit for them. It remains to see if Liverpool can bounce strongly and take their campaign back on the road.
However, Liverpool have now surrendered a significant blow with midfielder Harvey Elliott getting an injury towards the end of the game. The midfielder had to be helped by the stadium by medical staff and a video of the incident shows that there could be more difficulty for Arne Slot and his team in the coming weeks.

Liverpool needs a team depth
Lack of rotation in recent months has abandoned Liverpool players and will have to rotate the team in the coming weeks to export optimal performance levels and win the title.
