Former Indian cricket player Harbhajan Singh has sparked fresh speculation about a possible rift with MS Dhoni after posting a cryptic message on social media. Harbhajan’s X (formerly Twitter) post read, “Strangers can become best friends as easily as best friends can become strangers.
The post, which did not name anyone, came after Harbhajan, in an interview, said he had not spoken to Dhoni in over a decade. Fans were quick to make the connection and draw parallels between the post and Harbhajan’s words that he had limited communication with Dhoni during his playing days.

‘I don’t talk to Dhoni’: Harbhajan Singh
In a chat with CricketNext, Harbhajan discussed his equation with the former Indian captain, revealing that they barely spoke off the field.
“No, I’m not talking to Donnie. When I was playing for CSK, then we used to talk, but otherwise, we haven’t. It’s been 10 years and more. I have no reason; maybe he does. I don’t know what the reasons are,” Harbhajan said.
He also shared that their conversations during their tenure with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL they were limited to cricket and the ground. “After the matches, he didn’t come to my room, nor did I go to his,” Harbhajan added.
Harbhajan and Dhoni broke up?
Harbhajan’s post went viral within minutes and fans started posting mixed reactions. Some of them started speculating that there is a conflict between the two. Others urged the cricketers to clear up the rumors publicly. Neither Dhoni nor his representatives reacted to Harbhajan’s comments or the uproar that followed.
Harbhajan and Dhoni have been involved in some of the most memorable moments of Indian cricket, including winning the T20 World Cup 2007 and the ODI World Cup 2011. However, by all accounts, their bonhomie never crossed the boundaries of the field of cricket.
The revelation has fans confused. The duo shared a great rapport not only in the international format but also in the IPL. Although Harbhajan hints that Dhoni might be hiding reasons to avoid communicating with him, he holds no grudge against the former India captain.
