Karis van Houten sets the record straight for his relationship with Guy Pearce.
The Game of Thrones the actress took it Instagram story on Wednesday, Jan. 22, to confirm that she and Pierce, 57, hadn’t been together “for years.” The revelation comes after Pierce recently described an ex-wife Kate Mestitz like the “greatest love” of his life.
“I don’t usually engage in discussions about my personal life, but due to a number of conclusions in the media last week regarding my relationship with Guy, I wanted to clear something up,” van Houten, 48, wrote next to a photo of her and Pierce.
She continued: “He and I are great friends and we love each other very much, but we haven’t been a ‘couple’ in years. (I’m sorry I didn’t mention it sooner.)”
“However, I am very proud to say that we are in a wonderful partnership raising the true love of our lives – our beautiful son and his hamster. The end,” van Houten concluded, referring to the couple’s son, Monte.
In an interview with The Guardian posted Saturday January 18th Pearce make a confession about his relationship with his ex-wife.

“My ex-wife, Kate, was the greatest love of my life, but now I’m estranged from her, and the greatest love of my life is my child, Monte,” Brutal said the actor.
Speaking about her “biggest disappointment”, Pearce said she “felt like I messed up my marriage”. He added: “I don’t feel that way anymore, but at the time I was devastated.”
Pearce, 58, and Mestitz met in 1980 while attending Geelong College in Australia and married in 1997. In January 2015 the couple shared that they had parted ways.
“Kate and I will always love and support each other and be the best of friends,” Pierce said in a statement at the time. “No one knows me like Kate knows me, and we will forever be grateful for our mutual respect. We have both grown tremendously through our relationship, but unfortunately the time has come to part ways.”
Pearce continued with van Houten – best known for playing Game of ThronesMelisandre and the couple welcomed their son, Monte in 2016 “A cute little package arrived and told us his name was Monte Pierce. We think we’ll keep it. Placenta Embarrassed Anyone?” Pierce wrote via X in 2016, marking van Houten.
