Abrams, 25, who was a guest performer again during Swift’s final tour at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday, December 8, took the stage with a piece of paper before his final performance.
Reading a heartfelt speech to the crowd that was filmed by a fan and posted via TikTok that night, Abrams said she’s “not ready for it to be over,” before paying tribute to the profound effect Swift, 34, has had on her life.
“Like all of you, I (was) raised on Taylor’s songs,” began Abrams, dressed in an angelic white dress. “Magically, I needed a moment in my life that I didn’t think anyone else could understand or know or suffer or long for or love or lose, and yet she did it. How should we have the words for it? We don’t yet. But I know we have each other because of Taylor, her music, her generosity, her curiosity, her wild and incomparable pen, her superpower to peer into our lives and create soundtracks for every single formative moment we’ve had and which we will have.”
At one stage Abrams, who perform a duet with Swift during the Saturday, Dec. 7 show in Vancouver, got emotional with the broken voice. However, the musician pressed on, telling the crowd that her mission for the evening was clear.
“We’re all here to remind her how deeply she touched us,” Abrams continued. “How much we appreciate every little detail she goes out of her way to make us happy and thank her from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the time of our lives.”
