The list of nominees for Golden Globe Awards 2025 proves the stars will shine bright at the 82nd annual ceremony.
Mindy Kaling and Maurice Chestnut announced the nominations – which honor achievements in both film and television – on Monday, December 9.
Nicky Glazer is set to host of the awards show for the first time on Sunday, January 5. The 40-year-old comedian noted in an August press release that it’s an “exciting but challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars.”
“Some of my favorite jokes of all time have come from past Golden Globe opening monologues Tina (Faye), Amy (Poehler) or Ricky (Gervais) they said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear,” she continued. “I just hope to continue in this time-honored tradition (that could also undo me). This is truly a dream job. Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty about every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year. It was all worth it.”
The Golden Globes, which first took place in 1944, have undergone several changes in recent years. The ceremony in 2022. it was not aired on television after the stars boycotted due 2021 Los Angeles Times report which revealed that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – the journalists’ organization responsible for awarding the Golden Globes at the time – had no black members.

Although the HFPA promised to diversify its membership and the Golden Globes returned to NBC with A-listers in attendance in 2023, the HFPA ultimately disbanded the following year, with Dick Clark Productions acquiring the Golden Globes and CBS signing a deal to air the awards show moving forward.
