A Georgia Mother Almost the unthinkable experienced when she noticed with a man with a man “tug of war” after they allegedly tried to grab her young son in a Walmart.
Caroline Miller was Visit a Walmart In Acworth with her 4-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son last week when the motorized wheelchair that the family used broke in the aisle of the pharmacy. Moments later, the 56-year-old Mahendra Patel reportedly approached the family to ask for help to find Tylenol, the mother, WSB told.
“When I pointed out my arm in this way to say that it was where it was, that was when he reached down, put both hands on Jude and grabbed him out of my lap,” said Miller.

Miller was able to “break away” with her son when Patel reportedly retained the child.
“I withdrew him,” said Miller. “We are tug of war.”
After the fight Patel walked away, bought the Tylenol and left the store, WSB reported. The child was unharmed, the police said.
Detectives were able to identify Patel by talking to witnesses and revising security images of the incident, according to the Acworth Police Department.

Three days later Patel was arrested and charged with Kidnapping, simple attack and simple battery, the police said.
“We could see the car he got in, and followed the cameras and used our herd cameras in the city and (could) get a tag number and trace it,” Sgt. Eric Mistretta of the Acworth Police Department told WSB.
Patel is held without bond on the Sheriff’s Office of Cobb County, according to online prison registers. No lawyer was mentioned for him.
“The safety of our customers and employees is a top priority – we will continue to work closely with the police during this investigation,” said a Walmart spokesperson in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Despite the frightening meeting, Miller is grateful that both of her children are safe and says that the children are now prepared for potentially life -threatening situations.
“As much as we would think it would never happen, it will and will do, and to be prepared for when that does,” she said WSB.
