Indian National Cricket Team coach Gautam Gambhir will return to the squad soon ahead of the second Test against the Australian National Cricket Team. According to reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that he has left India and will join the team on Tuesday.
India national cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir after the first test against Australia national cricket team had to rush back home. The former team skipper quit the team due to personal reasons and subsequently also missed India’s warm-up match against Australia’s PM XI.
Gautam Gambhir flew back to India at the end of the first Test in Perth on 25 November. He left on November 26 and was then reported to be back by the time the second game started. With four days left for the second matchday, the first coach will take over the management of the team.
In his absence, Indian assistant coaches in Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate and bowling coach Morne Morkel have been assisting the players in training sessions. They were also in charge during the warm-up match, which India won by six wickets and had a good pink-ball practice.
