Gareth A. Davies does not see Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury ever win another heavyweight world title before they retire. Of the two, Joshua (28-4, 25 kos) has a better shot due to his power, speed and willingness to continue to fight. At this point, AJ is the only one with any ambition to try to capture another world title.
Fury (36-2, 24 kos) withdrew shortly after his second defeat against Oleksandr USYK on December 21. Many people see this as another of the 36 -year -old gypsy short -lived fake retirements because they like money too much and he will be bored of sitting in his mansion to get fat.
Joshua’s next move
It is alarming that Joshua chose not to take the immediate rematch with Daniel Dubois after the fifth knockout loss on September 21. The longer AJ expects, the less likely it is to have a shot to avenge its loss to become a triple heavyweight champion.
Candidate Eddie Hearn said Joshua had some injuries he wanted to recover, but that was a while ago and now seems to be waiting to see if Fury will get out of retirement. This is not wise because Fury can stay out of the ring for as long as he did after his fight against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
“If he wins a shootout with Daniel Dubois, then he could win another world title again,” Gareth A. Davies told the Seconds When asked if Anthony Joshua can ever win another heavy heavyweight world title in his career. “It’s hard to call. I would probably say no, as I don’t think Tyson Fury will win another world title again.
“I think we are seeing a change of guard. Daniel Dubois and Moses Itauma pass. only one more mania.
“He was a knockout in September in Daniel Dubois,” Gareth told Joshua. “He set that he wants to fight Daniel Dubois and Tyson Fury in 2025. I would love to see him have some more battles, but I think Eddie Hearn said he was fighting with it. He is fighting with a return.
The match to happen
Joshua will have to get a residence race to stay steep while waiting to see if Fury returns to the ring in the summer. If he doesn’t, AJ should take the rematch with Dubois if he still holds the IBF title. Daniel defends Joseph Parker next month on February 22 in Riyadh.
“I don’t think he has to leave now. It has opportunities to be in amazing battles. I think we need to see Fury Tyson and Anthony Joshua. It is a race that completes the season. It would be a tragedy if the two men do not meet, “Davies said
