Foxes counterattack to exert tremendous pressure on Postekoglou

Leicester City won a crucial 2-1 win over Tottenham in a tense match, finishing its series without a win in the Premier League.

Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss hit early in the second half to overthrow Richarlison’s first half, leaving Spurs amazed and deepening their races under Ange Postecoglou.

The game started with Tottenham dominating the beginning. Ricarlison, making the second start of the championship in the season, gave the Spurs lead in the 33rd minute.

Pedro Poros executed a perfect cross from the right and the Brazilian met a diving head to win Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

The Spurs continued to push, with Porro beating carpentry and Heung-Min Son forcing a nice rebound from Stolarczyk, but were unable to extend their lead before.

Leicester’s innocent appearance in the first half offered little evidence of what was going to follow.

Just 58 seconds after the second half, the foxes equalized the match. Bobby de Cordova-Rid, influential throughout the second half, sent a low cross to the area, which Tottenham’s defense failed to expel.

Vardi rushed, broke his home to score the 10th goal of his career against the Spurs and trigger life in Leicester.

A few moments later, the guests completed their return. De Cordova-Rid cut a relaxed pass by Rodrigo Bencourt and found El Hannan in the void.

The Jamaica International made an excellent effort in the lower corner of the 20 yards, closing the silence of the home team and leading Leicester 2-1 in the 50th minute.

Tottenham was looking for an answer, with Poros and the alternate Mike Moore approaching.

Poros hit the horizontal beam with a thunderous foul of the 30 yards, while Moore saw a volley with a goal that was excellently saved by Stolarczyk in additional time.

The defeat marked its fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, letting Posekoglou’s team wither in the last six and looking for answers.

For Leicester, victory was an indispensable impulse in its fight against relegation.
