Fox News dominates viewership in 2024, topping CNN and MSNBC combined in unprecedented news year

It was Fox News’ highest share of the cable news audience in nearly a decade, as the network held 55% of the cable news audience in primetime and 53% all day.

Fox News has been No. 1 in cable news among both daytime and primetime viewers for 23 years in a row.

Fox News also crushed its cable news competitors among the advertiser-coveted adults 25-54 demographic, with an average of 187,000 daytime viewers in the critical demo, compared to just 92,000 for CNN and 86,000 for MSNBC. It was much the same during primetime, when Fox News averaged 298,000 demo viewers, compared to 151,000 for CNN and just 137,000 for MSNBC.
