Former porn star Brittni De La Mora is calling for age verification laws to be made ‘mandatory’ to ‘protect children’ as Florida is set to introduce legislation on the issue in January.
Pornhub will soon no longer be available to users in Florida after the Sunshine State introduced a new age verification rule for accessing adult sites. As of January 1, 2025, the age verification rule is linked to the State HB3a measure aimed at protecting minors online.
Pornhub’s parent company, Aylo, emphasized to Fox News Digital that it is in favor of implementing effective age verification, just not specifically in the way Florida law is designed. Other media have incorrectly reported that it does not support age verification at all.
“They are avoiding liability by saying they don’t want to comply with a simple law, which is age verification for pornography,” De La Mora said. The Ingraham Corner“I don’t know exactly what they do with their money, but I do believe they are not out to protect young children.”
“Fifty-eight percent of minors who viewed pornography for the very first time viewed it by stumbling upon it through a pop-up ad, etc. And they weren’t looking for porn – watched porn for them,” De La Mora said.

Under the bill, a website or application that contains “a substantial portion of material harmful to minors” will be required to verify the user’s age. The user must be confirmed to be 18 years or older via an ‘anonymous or standard age verification method’ to continue engagement.
In response to the specifics of the measure, Aylo decided to suspend access to the adult site in Florida. In a statement, he said the collection of “highly sensitive personal information” “puts user security at risk.”
“First, to be clear, Aylo has publicly supported age verification of users for years, but we believe that any law in this regard must ensure the safety and privacy of users and effectively protect children from accessing content intended for adults. Unfortunately, the way many jurisdictions around the world, including Florida, have chosen to implement age verification is ineffective, haphazard, and dangerous. also brings “If the law is enforced, users will simply visit non-compliant sites or find other methods to circumvent these laws,” Aylo told Fox News Digital in a statement. .
The statement later continued: “The best solution to make the Internet more secure, maintain user privacy, and prevent children from accessing adult content is to perform age verification at the source: on the device. The technology to achieve this exists today. What is needed is the political and social will to make this possible. We are committed to being part of this solution and working with government, civil society and technology partners to deliver an effective device-based age verification solution providing free and easy-to-use parental control features that can prevent children from gaining access to adult content without the risk of exposing sensitive user data.”

Florida residents who use the app before the deadline will see a countdown pop-up of how many days they have left to access the site.
“Did you know that your government wants you to surrender your driver’s license before you can access PORNHUB?” the pop-up reads. “As crazy as that sounds, it’s true. You must prove you are 18 years or older, such as by uploading your government ID for any website with adult content you want to access.”

The pop-up also addressed how it supports minors who cannot access the site, saying that preventing use is a “good thing.” It directed readers to alternative methods of blocking minors’ access, such as “Device-Based Age Verification.”

De La Mora continued: “I was in the porn industry for seven years, and I would get extra money to do aggressive, offensive scenes.”
She explained how the acts of “hair pulling, spitting and choking” often used in porn clips have become “sex education” for young people.
After speaking to several young girls, De La Mora said many reported not wanting to have sex again after their first sexual experience.
“I don’t blame the young boys. They watch pornography, and this is what fills their minds, and this is what teaches them how to have sex,” she said.

“Protecting children is in no way a violation of your First Amendment rights. I believe our government has a duty to protect children,” De La Mora said, arguing that adult content “was not created with children in mind.” “It was made for adults, and yet there has been no accountability for porn companies.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ communications office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
