Hamas terrorists have kidnapped Soussana from her house in Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the Brutal 7 October attacks. She was forced to walk barefoot in pajamas from her burning house to the Gaza limit, which was beaten along the way. Soussana fought her abductors in what was called ‘the Battle of My Life’, in an attempt to block them in the hope that the IDF would save her before she was dragged to Gaza.
Soussana was released from Gaza in November 2023 after 55 days in captivity as part of the first hostage of Israel with Hamas.

During her imprisonment, Soussana was chained by her ankle, unable to move. “I had to ask permission to use the bathroom,” she explained, with details about her experience. “In that house I was sexually abused by the Hamas terrorist who had guarded me.”
She described the attack and said, “He forced me to go to the shower and entered the room, pointed his gun to me. He breathed heavily and had a monstrous beastly face.” She remembered his intrusive interrogation while he was sitting next to her in his underwear, lifted her shirt and touched her. “I knew exactly what he was planning to do, and yet I couldn’t do anything to prevent it. I was completely helpless.”
Soussana said that after the attack she was not allowed to “cry or be sad.” She remembered that she felt isolated and “forced to act nicely for the person who just had sexually abused me.”
