Former Congressman of the United States Mia love died at 49 years after a Battle of brain cancer.
“With grateful hearts filled to overflow for the deep influence of the Ministry of the Interior on our lives, we want to know that she has died peacefully today,” said the family of love at a Statement by x On Sunday, March 23. “She was in her home, surrounded by her family. In the midst of the holiday of her life and an avalanche of happy memories, Mia quietly tucked the groups of mortality, and as always, her words and vision were always done, the sky grew.”
The statement continued: “We are grateful for the many good desires, prayers and condolences. We take some time as a family and will provide information about the funeral services and a public holiday of her life in the coming days.”
Love was the first Black Republican Congressman to take office, performing the functions of a representative of the Fourth Congress of Utah from 2015 to 2019.
She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2022, but kept her health battle under packaging for two years. Love speaks honestly about seeking treatment for cancer through a clinical immunotherapy trial during May 2024. Interview on CNN.
“I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t think it was a big deal, everyone got a headache,” she said at the time. In the end, the headache made her “the head feel as if she were exploding.”
Initially, nearly 95 percent of her brain tumor were removed. After his biopsy results and cancer diagnosis, love has undergone chemotherapy and radiation. She received 10 to 15 months to live when she joined the clinical trial at Duke University, a forecast she surpassed.
Earlier this month, however, love announced that it had stopped responding to treatment.

Love survived the husband Jason Lav, whom she married in 1998, and all three of their children.
