Florence Pugh she’s never been afraid to call out unattainable Hollywood beauty standards throughout her career.
In 2019 Pugh famously hit back at a review that compared her thigh size to that of a WWE pro Sarah Jade Bevis (aka Paige), who she portrayed in the film Fighting with my family.
“Oh my God,” she tweeted in response to Evening Standardthe story of March. “Showcasing my ‘bulky’ thighs doesn’t help normalize Hollywood with ‘all shapes and sizes.’ In fact, that’s part of the problem. I hope people take more from the film than the tour of my hams.”
The Oscar nominee also sparked conversation with several of her stunning looks on the red carpet. In particular, on pink transparent dress she wore to the Valentino Haute Couture fashion show in July 2022 made headlines for showing off her nipples.
Clapping back at the haters, she wrote via Instagram at the time, “What was interesting to watch and witness is how easy it is for men to completely destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for all to see. You even do it with your job titles and work emails in your bio. … It’s not the first time and it certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body from a crowd of strangers, what’s alarming is how vulgar some of you men can be.
