I’m not as worried as others seem to be about Gabriel Martinelli right now.
Yes, it was a mistake for him who was caught offside in the build-up until the late goal was disallowed. He should have done more to hold his line, given that he was looking across the field.
But the Fulham defenders also deserve credit. They stepped up at the right time and it also led to Martinelli being caught offside.

I thought he was smart when he came on and Arsenal looked a lot more threatening. They had a balance in their attack that was missing before it was introduced.
I feel like Martinelli seems to be getting some unfair criticism right now. Could it offer more at times? Yes, undoubtedly. Could his final product be any better? Again yes. But it’s not Arsenal’s biggest problem at the moment.

Having said that, I believe that the left wing is an area where Arsenal could improve and this fact the club chased Nico Williams and Mykhailo Mudryk in recent transfer windows suggest they agree.
I’m not saying Arsenal should move on Martinelli. I still think he has a big role to play in this team going forward, but it’s clear that another option in this side would be really beneficial in terms of attack.
