“Every point is huge” for Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes says “every point is huge” for Manchester United, after coming 2-0 to slip on Everton on Saturday.

Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure gave the hosts a worthy half time only for Fernandes to trigger a return by scoring a free kick and sending another that led Manuel Ugarte to secure a 2-2 draw.

Everton was awarded a last -minute penalty, which was overthrown after a VAR video review and United escaped with a tie leaving them 15th in the ranking.

Fernandes said: “Every point now is huge for us because we are in a position that is very difficult for us, that we should not be and unfortunately every point counts for us at the moment.

“We need to know that the position we are is not the best. It is not where this club should be, so we must require more than ourselves, understanding that we need every point in the league from now on in every game we have ahead. “

United returns home to Ipswich on Wednesday, when Everton travels to Brdford looking to secure a fifth Premier League victory since David Moyes arrived.

They may feel that they had robbed the opportunity to reach this goal already, with defender Jake O’Brien saying that they should have kept the lead and that a penalty for a foul on Ashley Young should not be reversed after intervention of Var.

“We will get the point, but at the end of the day it feels like a loss,” said defensive tofffees. “We should have been removed with more.

“For 60 to 70 minutes, I think we were dominant and playing well, but bad decisions or tired legs that lost it to us in the end and punished us for it.

“I think it was a penalty. From what I could see, it seemed obvious, it didn’t even look like something you would control, but I think it has done, from what I think, many wrong decisions today.”
