European giants eye loan deal to prize former England international away from Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have made inquiries over a loan move for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, according to reports.

Athletic claim the two clubs have been in contact with United to understand the financial package it would take to prize Rashford away from Old Trafford.

United are believed to be willing to either sell or loan Rashford this month in a bid to land the player, who is believed to be earning more than £325,000-a-week off wages.

The 27-year-old recently said he was “ready for a new challenge”, prompting indications that his time at United may be coming to an end.

The Sun also claimed they were in talks with Stellar Sports Agency – they helped facilitate Gareth Bale’s £86m move to Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 – in a bid to fast-track a move.

Rashford remains a tempting prospect for foreign clubs despite a miserable 18 months in which he failed to replicate the form that saw him score 30 goals in all competitions in 2022-23.

The player has also hit the headlines for off-field abuses and has been accused of a lack of effort.

Dortmund are in form to take players from United in the January window, having signed winger Jadon Sancho on loan this time last year.

Sancho performed well in the Bundesliga and as a result secured a move to Chelsea in the summer.
