Arsenal are prioritizing midfield wonder Ethan Nwaneri’s new contract as they know they cannot afford to stand still on these issues.
This is what Charles Watts says as he spoke exclusively CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, with the reporter as well commending Nwaneri that he fully deserved a reward for his good form.
Ten clubs are chasing the signature of the Arsenal star!
The 17-year-old already signed a professional contract earlier this year, but Watts confirmed he is likely to be handed a new and improved deal after impressing for Mikel Arteta’s first team this term.
Nwaneri is the latest talent to emerge from Arsenal’s academy, following other success stories such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe in recent years.

The young England international looks like he could really have a very special career ahead of him, so it’s no surprise that Arsenal want to do everything they can to ensure they don’t take any chances with his future.
Ethan Nwaneri contract update
“New contract for Ethan Nwaneri it’s definitely something on Arsenal’s agenda at the moment,” Watts said.
“The club are happy with the job they have done in terms of rewarding their players over the last two years, but they are well aware that they cannot afford to stand still when it comes to contracts.
“Nwaneri only signed his first professional contract in March but his progress since then has been rapid, with the 17-year-old already scoring four goals in 11 appearances this season.
“There is no rush to extend his deal, but Arsenal’s approach to contracts in recent years has been to make sure players are rewarded for their performances and their place in the team.
“Nuaneri has already become a key part of Arteta’s squad and Arsenal will look to reward him for that, with talks understood to be about a new deal.
“And when you look at what he does and the talent he has, it’s impossible to say he’s not worth it.”
