Newcastle Eddie Howe’s boss described Dan Burn’s call to England’s team as “one of the big stories” and greeted the defender as “real man”.
The 32 -year -old was one of many surprise inclusions from the new England coach Thomas Tuchel this morning Having established itself as normal on a side of Newcastle that meets Liverpool in the Sunday EFL Cup final.

And Howe believes it is a worthy integration.
He said of Burn: “Yes, an incredible time for Dan – and I have to say that there is still no one who deserves in my opinion.
“Such an inspirational guy and a talented player is a great football story. Dan had to do it in the harsh way he goes through the championships. He’s the model’s professional. He’s so dedicated to what he does. His character is so stable and so flat, I am so happy.
“We started working with Dan when we did and apparently came during the relegation battle, just such an inspirational child and a very talented player.
“I think it’s a great story really, one of the great stories, one of the great returns. A dedicated professional, a leader, a real man.”

There is no time to celebrate for Burn
Asked if he had spoken to former defender Fulham, Wigan and Brighton to discuss the news, Howe added: “Very soon. He told us about the call soon before he came here, so no, there is no time to celebrate with him straight to education for him.
“This is a great time for Dan, and of course for Newcastle. But the Cup final is, of course, all we are thinking now.”
Burn, who can also play left, will start at the center of defense against Liverpool on Sunday and will undertake to maintain a quiet Reds attack.
