Eagles fan directs vicious tirade against Packers fan during wild card game and social media video shows


Lincoln Financial Field hosted Philadelphia Eagles home games for more than twenty years.

During that time, the football stadium at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex has earned a reputation for being one of the toughest places in the world the N.F.L where opponents can visit. Eagles fans routinely come to what locals affectionately call “the Linc” and create a raucous environment.

But during sunday’s wild card round match against the Green Bay Packersan Eagles fan was seen mercilessly berating a woman wearing Packers gear.

A video that emerged on social media shows an unidentified male fan in a green Eagles jacket making mean comments to the Packers fan sitting in the upper deck of the stadium.

At one point the man appears to call the woman ‘stupid’.

“What it’s like to go to Philly and just root for your team…” a social media user with captions a video that shows at least part of the unsavory exchange. “Unprovoked, inappropriate. Packers tweeting, help me find this guy… this is not okay.”

The video was viewed more than 18 million times on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday afternoon.

Another man in the video tells the Eagles fan to stop berating the woman, to which the aggressor responds by saying, “She’s an ugly, stupid c—. Are you going to do something? Come on and watch the match.”

The woman who was the source of the Eagles fan’s apparent fear remained largely calm throughout the video. However, at one point she did make a ‘boo-hoo’ gesture.

It is unclear whether the Eagles fan will face punishment from the team.

As for the game itself, quarterback Jalen Hurts returned to action after a two-game absence following a concussion diagnosis. The two-time Pro Bowler threw a pair of touchdowns to lead Philadelphia to one 22-10 victory above Groenbaai.

The Eagles are awaiting the outcome of Monday night’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams. The game was moved to Glendale, Arizonadue to the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area. The winner of the final game of the wild card round will travel to Philly this weekend for a divisional round matchup with the Eagles.
