“This was probably the most surprised I have ever been in my life,” Country singer told USAS “When you think about Opry and think about invitations to be a member, they usually happen on the stage in Opry.”
On June 17, 2021, Pierce believes he participated in an ad for Dollywood after earlier in the theme park. When Parton was walking around the corner and he introduced himself, everything changed for Pierce.
“I was, of course, shocked, but I thought we were doing this ad for Dollywood together,” she jokes. “And I heard her say the word” Opri “several times in 30 seconds. I can only equate her to how a girl feels when he thinks she gets married – just like, “Can you just say it? It happens?”
