Senate Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) Caucus Chairman Joni ErnstR -iowa, said that every few days she talks with Trump-released billionaire Elon Musk while he leads the attempt by the administration to lower wasting expenses.
“We communicate back and forth every few days,” she told Fox News Digital in an interview. “I will send extra ideas that we think of.”
According to Ernst, during a meeting with president Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago Estate in Florida in November, she gave Musk’ a memorandum blue pressure of eight pages with a number of cost-saving ideas’.

“He literally assumes that and runs with it,” remarked the Iowa Republican.
She said she just sends new ideas directly to Musk, and “soon you will see a tweet on X.”
When asked if she thought she would ever work to control the government with the Billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the owner of X, Ernst laughed: “Never in a million years.”

Since Trump took office last month, Doge has quickly taken action to audit agencies and departments within the executive power, in which contracts, programs and expenditures that Trump and Musk consider unnecessary to eradicate.
The effort was made by Democrats with protests, as legislators have appeared outside the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Treasury and the Ministry of Education to prove. Some Democrats even tried to enter the buildings, but were prevented.

On the other hand, the Republicans have welcomed the initiative. For example, Ernst told Fox News Digital that the actions of Doge so far have been ‘great’.
Regarding the criticism of how DOGE employees perform their audit and to what information they get access, the Iowa Republican claimed that it is completely legal in her opinion. “This is the executive and they investigate the executive. So it is of course legal,” she said.

“There is nothing in the constitution that says that the president cannot investigate the expenditure, especially when those dollars go to programs that members had not expected here in the congress,” she noticed, referring to breathtaking programs that are discovered by Doge, With considerable money, including diversity, fairness and inclusion (dei), including initiatives.
