Denzel Washington bit his tongue ‘almost half’, says it influences my speech


Denzel Washington struggles with his speech after a horrible injury.

During a Saturday performance on the New York Times’ “The Interview” PodcastThe 70-year-old actor revealed that he was recovering after he had seriously damaged a crucial body organ.

“A few months ago I bite almost half of half,” said Washington.

“It influences my speech,” he continued. “It forces me to slow down. I have to use it.”

Washington explained that his health problem led to complications while preparing for his titular role in the upcoming Broadway revival by William Shakespeare’s iconic game “Othello”, which also plays Jake Gyllenhaal.

Washington also expressed his conviction that Gyllenhaal would be “brilliant” in the role of Othello’s Nemesis Iago.
