Democratic congress laws gathered on Tuesday to express passionate opposition Elon Musk’s Access to an office of a Treasury Department that is responsible for paying payments, days after they were told to hit the Trump administration.
The legislators of the house have come across Musk after he has gained access to a Ministry of Finance, the Tax Service Office, who pays trillions of payments every year, including checks for social security and federal salaries, via Doge, which is charged with Reducing federal expenses.
“Close the city! We are at war!” US Rep. Lamonica Mciver, DN.J., screamed in a microphone when supporters cheered during a rally organized by the Moveon Civic Action, indivisible and the Working Families Party.
“We will not take this. We will fight back.”
McLver called on protesters to ‘close the city’.
“Every time a person can pay $ 250 million to a campaign, and they get full access to the Ministry of Treasure Chest of the United States of America, we are at war,” she said.
In the weekend, Musk quoted “fraudulent” treasury payments in a post on X.
“The @doge team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officials at Treasury were always instructed to approve payments, even to well -known fraudulent or terrorist groups,” he wrote. “They have literally never refused a payment in their entire career. Not even once.”
Trump said that Musk has the authority to “let people go that he thinks are not good if I agree with him.”
The president noted that Musk cannot only stop Treasury payments.

“Elon can and will do nothing without our approval,” Trump said.

In a letter on Tuesday to federal legislators, a Treasury Department Officially said that a technical director who works with Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency “only reading access” will have the government payment system.
The letter was sent for concerning members of the congress that DOG’s involvement in the payment system for the federal government could lead to safety risks or missed payments for programs such as social security and medicine.

However, some Democrats are not convinced that Doge and Musk have only read access.
“Some Republicans try to suggest that Musk only ‘looks’ access to the very sensitive payment system of the Treasury as if that were also acceptable,” Sen said. Patty Murray, D-Wash., Vice-chairman of the Senate Credit Committee, said in a statement.
Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost, D-Fla., Said he was worried about Musk who had control over taxpayers funds.
“He has access to all our information, our Sofi numbers, the federal payment system, which means that he calls the shots on our taxpayer money,” he said. “There is absolutely no supervision about what he does. What is to prevent him from stealing tax money? Nothing.”
The protest came after the Hameness leader Hakeem Jeffries, dn.y., promised that Democrats would fight against president Donald TrumpS agenda “on the street.”
