Democrat legislator says that students will not have teachers under his training plan

A Democratic legislator said in an interview on Monday that children will not have lunch and will be in classrooms who have no teachers when President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency get their way.

“That is the word that should come true … Your child may be in a classroom that has no teacher,” said Rep. Rosa Delauro, D-Conn., On Ana Cabrera reports on MSNBC.

Trump, who campaigned on eliminating the Ministry of Education during the 2024 presidential election, has called in the help Elon MuskFounder and Chief Executive of SpaceX and Tesla Inc, to revise the efficiency of the agency. Trump is expected to issue an executive order in which the elimination of the department is called.

On Friday, Democratic legislators surrounded the Ministry of Education that protested against the Trump government on a “lack of transparency”, but were refused access by security.

During the CNN interview, Delauro said that students will not be able to have lunch at school under Trump.

“The other part of it is the indignation of the American public,” said Delauro. “And if you … think of the fact that there is the legal issue, but you have to think about what, you know, what are the consequences for American families. You follow education, you look at denying human lunches.”

She also said that students would suffer with special needs and that the congress would fight to stop the Trump government.

“The congress will not make this succeed,” said Delauro. “And the courts are important … Although we don’t have to rise to sue, we work together with the organizations that bring a lawsuit.”
