Dem senator warns ‘LA fires are harbinger of atrocities to come’, claims Trump was bribed by ‘Big Oil’


As fires wreak havoc in California, Senator Sen. Ed MarkeyD-Mass., claimed in a post on X that the catastrophe is “what a climate emergency looks like.” He targeted newly elected President Trump, claiming that the new president has been bribed by the oil industry.

‘Trump was bought by Big Oil for $1 billion. Just a payoff to kill the IRA and the Green New Deal. We know what will happen. More fires, more climate disasters, more deaths. The LA fires are a taste of atrocities to come,” Markey stated in a post on X.

Markey, who claims there is a ‘climate crisis’, has also warned of its potential consequences artificial intelligence (AI).

He suggested that the increasing use of AI could result in “a doubling of electricity demand in data centers by 2026”, “increased CO2 emissions”, “water supply shortages” and “electronic waste”.

“We are already facing a climate crisis. We can’t let the AI ​​get any worse,” Markey warned.
