Make no mistake, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is not that Run for mayor of New York City Only for the title of Hizzoner and digs in Gracie Mansion. The Democrat Scion is again, as many of us suspected that he would do that and present himself the leader of the National Party.
Democrats are desperately looking for a new leader. Cuomo67, who has already been driven as a possible competition from 2028, has the CV, name recognition and political pork chops to fill the void.

The party turned to a new, more moderate choice, a governor named Bill Clinton, who was not afraid to challenge left -wing orthodoxy, and not just that, democratic voters looked the other way for a very doubtful behavior, sexually and otherwise.
It can happen again.
If Cuomo becomes mayor of Gotham next year, you can bet 401 (K) that he and Trump will publicly hand over in the run -up to the Mid -Terms of 2026. Such a reprise of 2020 would give Cuomo a wide open lane to take the lead over the party of Jefferson and Jackson.
A difference between Cuomo and Clinton is that the latter was a new figure on the spot. Cuomo is already known, but that can help him. Many Democrats with whom I speak on the road do not want something new if they want the democratic party they remember before it was radical left.

Cuomo, who was never a radical left -wing lower, can be the physical embodiment of that, like his father, former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, whose fundamental political stores he also inherited.
Cuomo as the Savior of the Democratic Party may seem like a piece, but if you look at the bank, you see who? Gavin Newsom, whose incompetence is just as legendary as his hair? Kamala Harris, who only seemed more incoherent since her crushing defeat?

Soon we will start seeing Cuomo’s name in the National Polling for 2028, but none of which makes it possible to win the mayor’s office first, which is not a foregone conclusion. So in a very real way, the voters of New York City will not only determine the future of their city, but also the future of the Democratic party, and therefore the nation.
Republicans must hope that New Yorkers will hold Cuomo responsible for his shortcomings and not let him laundry his past later this year with a mayor’s victory party. Because if that happens, Cuomo could become the most formidable weapon in the arsenal of the Democrats, as it is.
