Davante Adams fuels Packers reunion rumors after Jet’s move disappoints


New York fighter jets Veteran receiver Davante Adams has fueled speculation about a possible reunion with the Green Bay Packers following his comments about his former team’s needs for the 2025 season.

The Packers made an early exit from the playoffs on Sunday with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, despite reaching the postseason for the second year in a row as the youngest roster in the league. Green Bay struggled all season playing against polished teams, losing six games to teams that finished with a record of 11-6 or better.

Much of that centered around a talented but young receiver room, and for Adams, that would be the focus for the Packers this offseason.

“I just think it kind of depends on the health of the team,” he said during a televised appearance on Tuesday “Up & Adams” show.

“It clearly looks like they’re going to need receiver help in some way, depending on what they have available. Maybe a veteran or something. I don’t know, we’ll see.”

The comments led to speculation on social media that Adams may have been talking about himself, especially considering the season he had in New York after reuniting with the former quarterback. Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets extended their historic playoff drought after finishing the season 5-12. The team has undergone significant changes, including the search for a new head coach and a new general manager.

There’s also a possibility that Rodgers doesn’t return.

The two played together for eight seasons in Green Bay, and Rodgers’ decision will undoubtedly play a role in Adams’.

He said Monday that this season has been a “whirlwind” and that he is unsure what his next step will be. Adams will earn $35.64 million each of the next two years.
