The former NASCAR driver, 42, shared a series of shocking images via Instagram Story on Sunday, December 1, after hot water apparently caused some damage.
“Day 1 coffee burn,” Patrick posted along with a photo of his burned left thigh. She added, “Starbucks 🖕🏽.”
The photo showed a circular burn mark with a large area of redness around it.
“Anyone else think their hot water is hot as hell?” Patrick asked, giving a little more insight into what happened.
On the third day after the burn, Patrick posted another image of his thigh, which showed an intense red circle with an area around the burn scar that was beginning to scar.
“Day 3,” she captioned the photo, which included a meme of Kristen WiigThe character of Target Lady from Saturday Night Live I look in disgust.
The former race car driver shared one final image of the burn, this one with a large bandage covering the area. “Cute, can delete later,” she wrote.
Patrick has been busy since officially ending his racing career in 2018, most recently as the on-air presenter of UK Sky Sports’ Formula 1 coverage.

Away with the races, Patrick boasts a new novel this summer during her time at Burning Man, the annual festival of art and self-expression held in the temporary city of Black Rock City, Nevada.
“In the dust we trust. 🌪️,” Patrick captioned a series of photos posted to Instagram on Sept. 5, which included two photos of her kissing an unnamed man. “This week of the year, 80,000 of us go to the middle of nowhere, Nevada, to live in an alternate reality where the currency is hugs, love and helping each other. ❤️.”
The relationship marks the first time Patrick has gone public with a partner since she split from the entrepreneur Carter Comstock in March 2022 after almost a year together.
