Dalot makes a bold claim for Manchester United’s Premier League title under Amorim

Diogo Dalot believes Manchester United can win the Premier League under Ruben Amorim – but admitted it would take time.

United is down 13th in the Premier League after a poor season so far, with the decision to replace the previous boss Erik Ten Hag with Amorim in November to do little to inspire a recovery in form.

The Red Devils have lost seven of the 11 Premier League games since the former athletic director took over.

But despite the results under the PAR, Portugal’s international Dalot believes he has seen well under his compatriot to convince him that the 40 -year -old will prove to be a discussion.

Talking in conversation with a United Supporters teamDalot said: “I think we can gain realistically. But then it becomes the most difficult thing to hear as a fan: that it will take time.

“Understand. I’m a player, but at the same time, I know what you feel. I know that this club is thirsty to win and everyone wants to win. We’re not talking about cups – I know it’s important, to win trophies – but what brought this club to what is big trophies.

“I think we can win a Premier League with this manager, but at the same time, we have to create an environment where he has everything he wants for what he wants from players. They also need to be adapted to the system. It will take a little time.

“Obviously we can’t think too much ahead, but I’m really convinced that the way he conducts himself, the way he communicates with the players, the idea that he has … we can do it.

“Now it becomes the hardest part, but it is truly honest and positive about it, I think we can win big trophies with this manager.”

United has been strongly criticized for their performance this season, with Amorim himself admitting that current crop could be the worst in the history of the club.

But the 25 -year -old says there are also signs that Amorim will take them on the right track in the near future.

“I see things a little differently,” Dalot explained. “Obviously I share every day, every moment with my teammates, with the people around the club, and with the new staff, and you can see that there is a way to go.

“Sometimes when you go this way, you have a lot of things to change and there is a big change in the club and it’s always difficult at this point where you want to change things but, at the same time, you have to win games.

“In recent months we have been trying to train during the games, so it was a very difficult process.

“I do not like to sound like they are always excuses, but it is the reality, and sometimes we have to deal with it. But at the same time, we are struggling and trying to improve things.

“But we also know that we have a great deal of responsibility and we have to do much better than we did in the last two games.

“Because there are a few times we have shown that we can be a good team. That we can do whatever the administrator wants to do. We are just trying to find this consistency.”
