The 30-year-old reality star and 41-year-old TV producer tied the knot at Casa de Monte Vista in Palm Springs, California on Tuesday, December 3, with just 20 guests.
“We planned to get married and we didn’t have a date. We just looked at each other and we are equally crazy. We just looked at each other and were like, ‘This is the perfect time to do it,'” Stoden exclusively tells usnoting that the couple began planning the wedding three weeks ago when they found out both their families would be in town for Thanksgiving.
“It’s the holidays, it’s already stressful and we just bought a house together so we’re dealing with that. Our family was like, “Are you crazy?” and we’re like, “Yeah!” It felt like the right time,” she explains. “I’m a really free spirit and I always have been and I don’t think that’s going to go away after marriage, so I just felt like it was the right time and everything just fell into place.” “
While the details of the couple’s impromptu nuptials were finalized quickly, Stodden didn’t miss a few unique touches. For her special day, Stodden wore a $60,000 vintage wedding dress and a ring her father gave her mother when her parents got married. After the ceremony, the newlyweds treated their guests to an all-vegan menu, including a vegan carrot cake.
“I feel excited. I feel like I’m on my way to where I need to be,” Stodden says us, adding that Safier “lights up” her life. “Everything that has happened up to this point has brought me here.
Safier, for his part, couldn’t agree more. “I feel great,” he says. “I get to marry my best friend and the love of my life and I get to do it in front of her family and my family, I’m so excited.”
Stodden was before married to an actor Doug Hutchison since 2011 until 2020 The couple made headlines for their wedding in Las Vegas when they were 16 and 50 respectively. Stodden subsequently continued with the developer Chris Shengto whom it belonged committed from 2021 to 2023. After their breakup, Stodden began dating Safier in August 2023. and announced their engagement in June.
Stodden recalls meeting Safier for the first time before a project they were working on together. After they had coffee, she warned him not to fall in love with her.
“He looked at me like I was crazy and said, ‘What? Don’t you fall in love with me at a business meeting?!” she says us. “But I just felt like if this guy falls for me, I’m kind of, you know, I’m done because I just felt this call to him and our first kiss, it was almost like it was our 80th kiss, first kiss for me It’s something I’ve never experienced before and felt it was an unspoken feeling. I felt this was exactly where I needed to be. It’s weird, but I just felt like I was supposed to be with him, and I was supposed to just be with him, and it just happens effortlessly, chaotically.”
While planning her wedding to Safier, Stodden reflected on her past marriage to Hutchison.
“I want to be happy and I think the marriage I went through in Vegas was so quick and I couldn’t process it because I was 16,” she explains. “So this is so important to me, to finally have my choice whether to get married. A parent does not need to sign this. This is entirely my decision.”
Although she feels “devastated,” Stodden said she’s also “excited” for the next chapter in her relationship with Safier.
“I think it’s only natural for me because of my story to feel nervous about it because I really want my happy ending,” she says. “I want it to be, and it’s nerve-wracking because a lot of PTSD and a lot of different things are going around, but I know I’m marrying a really amazing man and I’m just hoping, and so I’m feeling all the feels.” … I just know that my gut tells me that this is where I belong right now, and I just go with it.”
