As Americans flock to the nation’s capital for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has released a special transit map in honor of the event.
The “Commemorative Inauguration SmarTrip Card” is a rechargeable farecard that can hold up to $300 in stored value for the city’s public transportation, according to WMATA’s website.
There is a photo of it on the public transport card Trump over a red background with the large number “47” behind the president-elect.

In 2017, WMATA issued a generic inauguration card with a sleeve featuring Trump’s face.
A spokesperson for WMATA told Fox News Digital: “We have created several special edition inauguration-themed cards since 1993, with the exception of 2021 because the inauguration was a virtual event due to the pandemic.”
To get the Trump transit card, you’ll need to add a fare (one-way fares range from $2.25 to $6.75, depending on distance) or buy an unlimited 1-day pass for $13.50. According to WMATA’s site, you will also be charged a $2 SmartTrip fee.
Some travelers have already taken the Trump memorial cards and lined them up transit passes for resale.

“Consider another destination that is close to a metro station, even as far away as Vienna, Virginia,” Petersen advised.
She added: “The trains will run, but be sure to check the schedule as they may change for special events such as the inauguration.”
