Club Chalamet creator slams ‘evil’ people celebrating house fire

As celebrities and citizens rally around the communities most affected by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, one creator behind the popular Timothee Chalamet fan account has something to say to people celebrating the devastation.

“For those of you who have been sending me private messages laughing at me, wishing I had died in the fire too, or drinking champagne for my misfortune, or that this is my ‘karma’, just know that I know what you are and you don’t matter to me,” the Club Chalamet account posted via X on Saturday, January 11th, which is run by a guy who goes by the name of Simon.

“I’ve read some of these messages, deleted them and blocked them and it doesn’t hurt me because, again, I know who you are,” the post continued. “You are heartless and evil and the kind who would plunder the ashes of homes for scraps.”

On Thursday, January 9, Simon confirmed for The Hollywood Reporter that she lost her home in the LA fires. “I lost my home in Altadena, but I’m safe with friends,” the content creator told the publication.

Los Angeles has witnessed a frightening natural weather phenomenon – and its star community has been hit hard. An extreme storm driven by Santa Ana gusts sparked fast-burning brush fires around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, with drivers on Sunset Boulevard and Palisades Drive abandoning their cars to seek safety, according to (…)

“I want to address the elephant in the room which is the heavy trolling that seems to enjoy seeing me lose everything,” she continued. “These types of people don’t matter to me, they never have and they never will. It says so much about their character to be happy to learn that someone’s home burned down without realizing that I wasn’t even the owner of the house and that I risked my life saving 5 animals where most people would have left them to die, especially when you have the Altadena Sheriff’s Department yell at you with a megaphone to evacuate.

A host of Hollywood stars — from Paris Hilton and Whitney Cummings to Jennifer Grey and Emily Proctor — reportedly lost their homes in the historic fire.

“I’m so thankful I survived, but this is my home,” Proctor, who starred in the The West Wingtold CNN Jake Tapper in an emotional interview. “This is my neighborhood. This is my community. What we mourn is our life.”

Simone explained in the same X post that she’s “temporarily living with my boss, along with my landlady’s dog and cats.” She shared that she will be moving in with a friend in the near future “until I can get back on my feet and find a new place.”

“In the meantime, I will renew my support for Timothée Chalamet in his historic bid for his Oscar for his inspiring performance as Bob Dylan in Complete obscurity“, she added. “Finally, my heart goes out to those of you or your loved ones who have also lost their homes or had to evacuate, and I hope time heals your grief.”
