Christina Applegate slams ‘sick’ people enjoying the destruction of Hollywood during the Los Angeles fires


Actress and Los Angeles native Christina Applegate is furious that some people seem to be enjoying the devastation the California fires have caused to celebrities living in the area.

In a new episode of hers Podcast ‘MeSsy’ Along with fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate condemned anyone who suggested it was “good” for Hollywood to suffer.

“There aren’t really words,” Sigler said of the city’s destruction.

“You know what I have words for? Uh, damn people who say it’s, you know, good. It’s Hollywood and those stupid Hollywood people,” Applegate countered. “You’re kidding me.”

“I think people who don’t live here feel like there are just celebrities walking around and running everything,” she continued. “We’re like a part – we’re a small part of the city. I mean, this is a city of people doing their best at fast food joints or, you know, builders and painters, and there are countless groups of people here.”

“So to say clean up is really sick, and I don’t like that at all,” said the “Dead to meactress added.

Sigler begged her friend to “tune down” that kind of rhetoric, to which Applegate responded that even though she had done so, she found it “ridiculous.”

“You know what everyone in LA has in common? They are dreamers,” Sigler claimed.

“They’re all there for big dreams and they’re working from top to bottom, getting their damn stuff done. And certainly. Is there a group of people affected who will have the ability to rebuild their lives? lives – I wouldn’t say easy, but soon. And are there thousands of other people who literally have no idea where to start? Yes.

Over the past week, a plethora of Hollywood stars have lost their homes in various parts of the city. Stars included OdometerBilly Crystal, Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Ricki Lake, Anna Faris, Spencer and Heidi Pratt lost their belongings to the Palisades Fire, which is only 17% contained as of Tuesday morning.

Other active fires in the city include the Hurst Fire, which is currently 97% contained, and the Eaton Fire, near Pasadena, which is 35% contained. On Monday, a new fire, the Auto Fire, had broken out in Ventura County. It is currently 0% contained.
